Global Consulting Project was Nominated for “IT Project of the Year” 2010

Mr. Atanas Yanev Receives the Award

In the close race between nine nominees in the category “Public Organizations” first prize in the “IT Project of the Year”  2010 went to the project “Municipality of Stara Zagora – for better administrative services through e-government”, implemented by a consortium including David Holding, Ciela and Cnsys.

Global Consulting Project “Supply of software and services for analysis and data cleansing for the National Revenew Agency (NRA)” was awarded in the same category. The Prize Award and Certificate were handed to Mr. Atanas Janev – Director of Information Systems in the NRA. You can read the project description here.

Winner in the category “Corporate sector” in competition among fourteen candidates is “Migration and modernization of business critical information systems in E. Miroglio” developed by Musala Soft.

The award ceremony for “IT Project of the Year” was held for the  seventh consecutive yearby the weekly newspaper “Computerworld Bulgaria” with thesupport of DSK Bank. ICT Media marked their second decade in the ICT market in Bulgaria with their first periodical project  “Computerworld Bulgaria”. Informatica Beats Q4 Estimates

  Data integration software maker Informatica (INFA) closed 2010 with a solid financial performance by beating analyst estimates for revenue and profit in the fourth quarter.Informatica earned 39 cents a share in the quarter, minus one-time items, surpassing the consensus view of analysts for 37 cents.

Revenue rose 31% over the prior year to $198 million, exceeding the analyst estimate for $184.4 million. Q4 marked the company’s fifth straight quarter of double-digit sales and earnings growth year-over-year.For the full year, Informatica earned $1.13 a share on revenue of $650.1 million. The analyst consensus view was for profit of $1.10 on sales of $636.5 million.The stock traded up nearly 7% after hours to 45.35 a share.

Finance Chiefs Expand Roles

In the wake of the recession, more chief financial officers are expanding their role beyond finance.

Long seen as the overseer of a company’s books, finance chiefs have been getting more deeply involved in business strategy, deciding where to invest capital and even looking at a company’s product mix. They’re also taking on new responsibilities: overseeing divisions like information technology, production, customer service and human resources.

The change comes as companies put more emphasis on controlling costs, seeking input from finance chiefs as the companies try to manage revenue growth more closely during a tentative economic recovery.
