We are talking with Ms. Diana Djendova, Managing Director of Global Consulting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your company is operating for more than 20 years, how is this achieved?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

– We have always tried to be of good service to our clients and to provide them leading, world-class solutions and technologies. I think this is the successful approach in business. To be innovators and experts in hot topics, and cutting edge technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you meet the new\nrequirements for increased security in data processing and confidential\ninformation when it comes to the most sensitive sector – financial services?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

– The rapid development of technology has given rise to definitions like the \u201cFourth Industrial Revolution\u201d or \u201cIndustry 4.0\u201d. This, in turn, is a two-way process – the development of services on the one hand and customer expectations on the other. More and more services are being digitized and customers are using them in the comfort of their home or office, as well as payments and financial services are also evolving and we can now make them through our mobile devices from anywhere in the world. Our partner, Omikron, for example, is a leading European company, experts in e-banking. We are happy that their solutions are used by several Bulgarian banks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, this exchange of sensitive information and customer\ndata, when making electronic payments or providing various services, enables\nfraudsters to use a number of practices to commit fraud and financial scams.\nAnd it could be no different, since the constant work and exchange of personal\ndata, as well as the many communication devices, when using electronic services\nand online banking, significantly increase the risks of the appearance of\nsystem “holes”, which are used as a vulnerability during the hacking\nattacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can we counteract malicious\nactions and at the same time take advantage of technology?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our partner, the US Corporation Informatica, offers solutions for the development of a comprehensive data management and protection strategy. On the one hand, they try to be in favor of the organizations helping them to comply with the requirements arising from the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the payment services directive (PSD2). On the other hand, there will be no obstacles for the development and use of high-tech solutions by the customers. Because each organization has a clear purpose and one of them is usually related to offering better services, resulting in better revenue and profit. In this area, Informatica also offers many interesting and useful solutions for different types of business sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back to your question, in order to prevent malicious actions, Informatica offers several solutions that are designed to protect sensitive data. Mr. Motti Sadovsky, Regional Director at Informatica introduced us to some of them. The solutions Secure@Source and Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) are designed to automatically detect and classify sensitive data within the organization, evaluate risk, and manage it. The solution implements company access policies and user roles and on this basis, determines which employees have access to what information and sensitive data they can access. Notifications are also being sent when attempting to gain unauthorized access of the data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another type of protection is data masking. There, depending on the business processes and the specific need, Mr. Sadovsky showed us how to apply two approaches for data masking – persistent or dynamic. The first type is used when we need a sample of data that contains sensitive information, for example for test or other purposes, which has to be used by external parties, such as developers. Then the data is persistently masked, while preserving the structure and logic, and those, who use them, may not realize that this is not real data. This process is also irreversible because of its nature. Another type of masking that is very important now is the dynamic masking. When a user requests data access, for example for analytical reporting, and depending on the rights, he sees partially or fully masked data. They are again in the form and structure of the real data, but the content is masked, thus protecting sensitive customer information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is Informatica known in Bulgaria? What type of customers can benefit from Informatica solutions?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

– It is important to note about Informatica\nthat it applies an integrated data management approach across the organization.\nInformatica’s solutions are integrated into a single platform and can also\noperate separately, depending on the client’s specific needs. As I mentioned,\nInformatica offers complete data management solutions – from data creation and\ndissemination across the organization to the various systems and teams that use\nthem, to archiving and retrieving them. This is not a one-time action but a\nprocess. So we can say that Informatica is supporting organizations that are in\ntheir way to “digital transformation” and want to improve their business\nresults by using new organizational models and information systems in order to\nprovide new services to their customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Namely, Informatica offers an integrated\ndata management platform based on artificial intelligence (AI) called ClAIre.\nAny organization that wants to build a “data management strategy” as\npart of their “digital transformation” will find that the Informatica\nintegrated platform is the most comprehensive solution in the IT market. It\nhandles large amounts of data, no matter the datatype, whether it is on premise\nor in a cloud infrastructure, and in addition skillfully applies machine\nlearning and artificial intelligence. It is these AI capabilities that enable\nInformatica’s solutions to explore data across the organization and improve\nboth the results over time and the value that business users can derive from\nthose solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Bulgaria, clients in the financial,\ngovernment and utility sectors use Informatica and have significantly improved\ntheir data processing and management. Informatica\u2019s solutions are also very\nuseful for the processes, occurring more often even in our country, such as companies\u2019\nmergers and acquisitions, when Informatica offers tools for seamless\nintegration and standardization of data from all sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
